In April, I wrote to state leaders expressing a number of concerns regarding an extended closure of K-12 schools.

Although there is an ongoing police investigation, you should know that the Pendleton Police Department has identified and interviewed a suspect in the hacking events that occurred yesterday throughout the District.
As a follow up to yesterday’s incidents involving what appears to be “hacking” into our student Google classroom and email accounts, we continue to work with our IT staff.
I want to make you aware of a couple of changes to the student’s daily schedule that will take effect on Monday, October 5th.
While Comprehensive Distance Learning is in effect, there are exceptions for a limited number of students to be in buildings.
Certainly, we are not opening school in the manner that we had all hoped. So again, thank you for your patience as we have worked through the pandemic.
Earlier today, I sent an update regarding the Pendleton School District’s Comprehensive Distance Learning plan.
All of you should have received a message from your child’s school last evening, describing what our initial plans are to implement Comprehensive Distance Learning.
I realize that with Tuesday’s announcement by Governor Brown and my correspondence to you on Wednesday, many of our families have been pushed into panic mode as you deal with employment, childcare, making ends meet and a quality education that all children deserve.
It has been a while since I last communicated with all of you, but we are at a point that we need to communicate plans for the 2020-2021 school year.
